I don't think of myself as a girlie-girl at all.

That being said, there are several things which could be considered "girlie" that I love.and.adore.

And since I love lists, you get the privilege of reading a list of my girlie guilty pleasures:

1.  pedicures.  as pictured above, i always enjoy a pedicure, especially when it comes with the newest copy of People magazine and thirty minutes in which to read about why jake finally broke it off with vienna.

2.  fresh flowers.  nothing makes me feel as special as a brand new bouquet (double bonus when it's delivered so it counts as mail too!).  i especially love tulips, and irises are my fave.

3.  dresses.  i think i mostly appreciate how versatile they are, compared to all other types of clothing.  you can go super-casual and wear a plain dress with chucks to a sporting event or any other non-dressy occasion, or you can get all dolled up and pair a dress with heels and things that sparkle and shine for a night out on the town.  to be honest, i find them way more comfy than jeans most of the time, too.

4.  anthropologie.  i have always been a fan, but i have la beast to thank for turning this fan-ship into true dedication.  if you have never smelled their volcano candle, get yourself to an anthro immediately!

5.  chivalry.  despite some claims that chivalry is dead, i have a lifetime of experience with a father and brother that persuades me otherwise (and padre is from new york, so i will not accept claims that it only exists in the south).  while i often hear complaints that girls "don't appreciate it anymore" or that girls "are perfectly capable of opening their own car doors", i can't for the life of me fathom why any male would pass up a seemingly easy opportunity to make a gal feel special and to impress her.

6. pauly shore.

what?  that's not a stereotypical girl thing?

oh.  apparently most women find him repulsive, and the attraction is mine alone.  and apparently i'm trapped in the nineties with my crush.  whatevs.  i will not apologize for digging the voice behind Robert 'Bobby' Zimmeruski in my all-time favorite animated movie, A Goofy Movie.  you will not sway me.
